Things to do around the region.

There are a number of activities in and around the Ruapehu area, ranging from:

Skiing or snowboarding on Whakapapa or Turoa ski-fields on Mount Ruapehu
Mountain biking on local ‘Mountains to Sea’, ‘Old Coach Road’, ‘Fishers Track’ or the ’42 Traverse’ slightly further afield
Canoeing or kayaking the Whanganui River
Bush walks or tramps in the Tongariro Heritage National Park or Whanganui National Park
Trout fishing in one of our local rivers
